We've just started bringing back our lip balms! You may notice that we no longer offer tubes, but instead are offering larger tins. These tins offer a whopping 0.5 ounce of product whereas the tubes only offered up to 0.15 ounce. We decided to switch because, honestly, we wanted to try something new and we love the look. We hope that you'll love them as much as we do!
Here's a look at the few that we've listed so far:
Our all natural Peppermint lip balm is a wonderfully creamy blend of sweet almond oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, peppermint essential oil and vitamin E oil. The peppermint essential oil offers a slight tingling sensation. If you're a peppermint lover like me, this one is a sure winner!
Our all natural Cinnamon lip balm is a wonderfully creamy blend of sweet almond oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, cinnamon essential oil and vitamin E oil. If you know what cinnamon Red Hots candies smell like, well this is it or at least very close to it. Yum!
Our all natural Anise lip balm is a wonderfully creamy blend of sweet almond oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, anise essential oil and vitamin E oil. A must have for licorice lovers!

We're so excited to introduce the hot process versions of our Lemon and Lavender soaps today. I'm sure for those of you who have been following our update to our shop, it's seemed as though it's taking forever and for that I apologize. It's really turned out to be a bigger job than I'd thought it would be, but I know it will be a job well worth it in the long run.
Anyways, enough of my rambling and back to fun soap talk. Both the Lemon and the Lavender soaps came out wonderfully and I'm so thrilled to add them back to the line-up. They both offer a nice, light exfoliating quality and a very light scent coming only from the natural plant materials added to them. Both bars would be wonderful for washing your face, hands, bathing and even for use as a shaving soap.
As a facial exfoliant, lemon peel will help to unclog pores and remove dead skin cells. It also offers wonderful acne fighting properties. The oil in lemon peel is antibacterial in nature and the peels contain high levels of vitamin C.
Lavender offers antiseptic and anti-fungal properties, which help to reduce scarring and speed up healing time.
All-in-all, two wonderful bars that we love and we hope that you'll love, too!
Next in the line-up and coming very soon (drum roll, please), are our Clove and Sassafras (yes, I said Sassafras!) hot process soaps!! Get excited, we are! :o)

As you may or may not know, we are currently in the process of converting all of our soaps over to hot process. Now you might be wondering, what the heck is hot process soap?! It's pretty simple really:
Hot process soap is made in the same way as cold process except for one key ingredient: heat. To speed up the saponification process the soap is cooked. This method allows the soap to be fully saponified and immediately ready for use. Before making them available to you, we let our bars dry on the rack for one to two weeks to allow for a harder, longer lasting bar of soap.
We absolutely LOVE these new bars and we hope that you will, too! Check back often as we'll be adding to our shop frequently and plan on adding new bars to our line-up in time for the holiday season as well! :o)
After a few failed attempts, I think I'm finally ready to give this blog thing a serious try! :o)
For those of you who don't know who I am, my name is Erika and I am the owner of Babylon Soap Co. Babylon is currently run as a one woman show, with the exception of my sweet Fiancé who helps out in any way that he can, which involves cutting, packaging, labeling, shipping and so on (you get the idea!). Though it is not yet my full time job (I have a work-from-home day job, too), it is my hope that someday my dream of creating wonderful skin-loving soap concoctions all day long, every day will come true!
Why the blog? Not only do I want to get to know all of you (of course!), it's also my hope that here I'll be able to share the launch of new products with you (yay!), get your feedback on what you'd like/wouldn't like to see in the shop and so on.
